A delegation from the European Parliament visited the Bhutan Sturgeon Farm (BSF), Harachhu, on 23 September 2026, marking an important engagement with the Farm and providing an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in sturgeon farming in Bhutan with the continued support of the European Union.

During the visit, the delegation was taken through the Farm’s key achievements and milestones, ongoing development initiatives, future production strategy and targets, along with the role of EU support in advancing critical farm infrastructure, production capacity and technical expertise. The engagement also highlighted the tangible progress made through continued investment and technical support in strengthening the foundation for sturgeon farming in Bhutan.

The visit also facilitated constructive discussions on the Farm’s priority areas for further development and areas for continued support from the European Union, with a shared focus on sustaining the progress achieved and supporting the Farm’s future production plans.

The visit reaffirmed the importance of continued European Union support in advancing sturgeon farming in Bhutan and strengthening the foundation for sustained growth and future development.
