The Community-Based Capture Fishery Management Program (CCFMP) of the Drukdingsa Community-Based Capture Fishery Management Group (CCFMG), Dungna, Chhukha, was formally launched today in the presence of Dasho Dzongrab, Chhukha.

The event was attended by the Gup and staff of Dungna Gewog Administration, Chief Dzongkhag Livestock Officer of Chhukha, officials from the Chhukha Dzongkhag Administration, officials from the RNR-EC, Dungna, and officials from the National Research and Development Centre for Riverine and Lake Fisheries (NRDCRLF), Haa.

Funded by the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 (UNDP), the program will benefit 37 households of Drukdingsa, Dungna, Chhukha, with the aim of promoting sustainable management and responsible utilization of local fishery resources.

The launch also served as a platform to highlight the community’s commitment to sustainable fisheries management in Maellum Chhu, while promoting alternative livelihood opportunities and strengthening community participation in the conservation and management of aquatic resources.

The program marks an important step towards fostering community stewardship, sustainable fisheries practices, and improved livelihood opportunities for the people of Drukdingsa.
