Genus: Aborichthys Chaudhuri
Body elongated and compressed. Vent placed far forward. Preorbital spine absent. Lips thick, continuous at the angel of mouth with lower lip interrupted in the middle.
Diagnosis: Origin of dorsal fin above ventral fin origin, body marked by a series of double bars, bars on caudal peduncle restricted to the centre of caudal fin with a proximal blotch and distal dark band
