Labeo pangusia (Hamilton – Buchanan, 1822)

Genus: Labeo Cuvier

Dorsal fin with no spine, 10 – 12 branched rays in dorsal fin. Thick lower lip with deep post labial groove narrowly interrupted at isthmus. Upper lip separated from upper jaw.

Synony ms: Cyprinus pangusia Hamilton – Buchanan, 1822;

Labeo kunki Chaudhuri, 1912; L. tezpurensis Chaudhuri, 1912;Gobio pangusia Hamilton, 1822.

Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 2-3/10-11, anal 2/5, pectoral 1/14-15Lateral line with 42-43 scales, 15 fin rays in pectoral which does not reach ventral fin origin, origin of dorsal fin closer to snout than origin of caudal fin.
