Lepidocephalichthys guntea (Hamilton, 1822)

Genus: Lepidocephalichthys Bleeker

Body elongated and compressed, abdomen rounded, mouth inferior and narrow. Lips thick, lower lip deeply divided into posteriorly projecting lobe. A large bifid erectile suborbital spine below or infront of eye.

Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 2-3/6-7, anal 2-3/5, pectoral 1/6-7. Body elongated, low and slightly compressed anteriorly and strongly posteriorly. Mouth inferior, barbels 3 pairs. Dorsal fin inserted slightly behind pelvic fin origin.
