The NRDCRLF team, in collaboration with the PHPA-II Environmental team has commenced the Monsoon Fish Monitoring Programme today. The team will be engaged in field monitoring activities over the coming days to assess fish diversity and aquatic ecosystem conditions within the monitoring areas.

The National Research and Development Centre for Riverine and Lake Fisheries (NRDCRLF) has completed conducting the annual monitoring and evaluation of the Harachhu Community-based Capture Fishery Management Group (CCFMG), Athang gewog, Wangdue. The programme included fish stock assessment along with socio-economic and environmental assessments, carried out with support and coordination from relevant stakeholders.

The post-monsoon fish monitoring programme under PHPA-II, conducted along the Punatshangchhu and its tributaries, was successfully completed from 29 December 2025 to 2 January 2026. The programme involved assessment of the effectiveness of the Environmental Flow (E-Flow) and monitoring of aquatic life.
