Body elongated and compressed. Head very large. Mouth terminal, operculum large, deeper than long, its outer surface strongly ridged. Dorsal fin small, inserted slightly behind origin of pelvic fins.

Synonyms: Abramocephalus microlepis Steindachner, 1869; Cephalus mantschuricus Basileywsky, 1855; Hypophthamichthys dybowskii Herzenstein 1888; L. molitrix Valenciennes, 1844

Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 3/7; Anal 18. Body deep, mouth terminal and small. Body with silvery red spots.

Common names: Silver carp

Distribution: Introduced in fish pond at Goenshari, Chhimipang, Darla, Tsangkha, Lhamoizhingkha, Gomtu, Sipsu, Tendu, Phuentsholing
